During the past few years I have measured dozens of homes for EMF pollution. What I have found is that there are some simple steps that nearly every family can make that will reduce their EMF exposure by nearly 90%.
I have also found that you don’t have to go live in a cave to do this! You can still utilize technology and I am going to give you the specific steps to reduce EMF pollution in a modern home.
Before we move on, I realize that you may be skeptical that microwave radiation is harming your family’s health. We have been told by governments and corporations for decades that this technology is safe. However, the research actually gives us more than enough evidence to warrant taking precautions. Indeed, the most forward-thinking parents I know limit their children’s use of wireless technology and I will show you how you can easily do the same.
So, here we go – the Top 10 Steps to Reduce EMF Pollution:
Number 1: Get rid of your cordless phone. The base station for “DECT” phones is like having a mini-cell tower in your home that radiates 24/7 (often next to your bed). I recommend that you get a basic wired home phone. If you need a cordless phone, then get this Siemens Gigaset phone, which has an “Eco-DECT-Plus” setting that only transmits when in use. And, if you don’t like paying for home phone service – try Ooma, which is only $4 per month and initial setup fees.
Number 2: Turn off the wireless function of your printer. Wireless printers are heavy emitters of microwave radiation. Just go to settings/wireless/off. The blue wireless symbol should now be off. Run a wire to your printer.
Number 3: Do you have one of those amazing Sonos wireless speaker systems? Well, either get rid of it or unplug it when you are not using it. This system is filling your home with microwave radiation.
Number 4: You know that Wi-Fi router that you keep on your desk next to you? I recommend you turn off the wireless function and run ethernet cables to all of your computers. If you have a popular Apple Extreme Base Station, you can turn off the wireless transmitter by going into the Airport Extreme Utility/Edit/Wireless/Network Mode/Off. You will have to re-enter your Network Name and Password to turn the wireless system back on. If you have AT&T, here is a video that shows you how to turn off your Wi-Fi function:
Number 5: If turning off your Wi-Fi during the day is too much for you, then you can easily turn it off at night by plugging it in to a simple Christmas light timer. Sleep is the most important time to be free of microwave radiation (it affects your melatonin production, which will diminish the quality of your sleep).
