Coming soon. . . but here are some videos to get you started.

Great video! We are about to buy new kitchen appliances. Three of the four will be non-connected but the fourth, unfortunately, only comes with “home-connect” (Bosch refrigerator). Know of anyway to disable the transmitter?

      Hi Rob,

      Thanks for writing.

Here is a video on a smart refrigerator. Typically, this will void the warranty, so be careful of that. I would encourage you to get a refrigerator that this can easily be removed, disabled or that does not even have a transmitter.

      Hi Rob,
I have the same dilemma. Were you able to disconnect the wifi on the Bosch fridge?

I don’t have a fancy meter to check for EMF, but I have found that my old school transistor radio tells me exactly where the EMF sources are in my home. I get nothing but static from it near my dishwasher & new refrigerator!

Aargh. I hope I can find a way to disable these appliances. Thankfully my other major appliances are “un-smart”: an old reliable Maytag washing machine, an older Kenmore freezer, a gas dryer & a gas stove.

Hi. So are you saying there is no way to push an option and disable these things??? How frustrating. My washer keeps disrupting my WiFi connection ugh!!!!

It typically depends on the appliance. Some allow you to disable the connection. For others, you need to physically take out the WiFi antenna, which can also void the warranty.

Best to purchase appliances without any wireless transmitters in them (they still exist).

Do you have any recommendations on which appliances DON’T have wifi transmitters in them? We are having an extremely difficult time finding any.

I have heard from clients that they exist. You have to work with a sales person that knows their products and have your own RF meter to test (preferably in the store). Here are my suggestions:

Why inexpensive EMF meters don’t work: https://youtu.be/TFcl05hkVkE

And, you can buy used appliances that are a just a few years old.

Is it possible to disconnect the Wi-Fi or smart q from an LG dishwasher?

      Hi Teena,

I would work with LG to determine this. It may be simple. You can usually unprogram or dismantle the WiFi chip in appliances/TV’s. However, that may void the warranty, so do your research first.

You gotta buy the most basic appliances you can. I am talking the amanas washer and dryer.. the cheap ones, with no digital numbers, sensors, ANYTHING.. like grandma used to own. They are still out there..

Leave the old thermostats that force you to use the buttons to change the temp, no NESTS, none of the convenience crap… We intentionally bought an old 1963 ranch, because it did not have ANY smart/DUMB items… NONE..

Or look for old and used.. lots of people take care of their used items, and they work better than new.

Use a transister radio, turn it to am and scroll the button all the way to the left.. walk around your home to hear the static comming through the device.. gets loud near dimmers, xbox, phone chargers, iphones, etc.. you will be amazed at how much EMF we absorb in our homes daily… even without the wifi signals on…

Buy the old lightbulbs.. get rid of the smart bulbs, and use incandescents, because they last, AND do not throw as much garbage into your body..

AND NO SMART CARS!!!!! Get rid of it…. no wonder cancer rates are skyhigh!

Good luck to a saner, more body peaceful life…

How do I disable/remove the wi-fi from a Samsung Oven? There was not one single oven in the store that did not have wi-fi. I managed to find a washing machine that did not have it, but not an oven. I imagine when I replace the fridge in a few months that will probably be the same situation. Thank you in advance.

Recently got an oven with an Air-Frying capability. However, to use it the app has to be downloaded and the oven has to be set up for wi-fi. Any information on how to get this feature to work sans Wi-Fi or how to make it more of a manual option?

      Hi Greg,

Most people take the Wi-Fi card out of the appliance. This may void any warranty, but it gets rid of the Wi-Fi emissions.

If the oven won’t work without being connected to your phone, then I would get a new oven.

Hi there. My LG ThinQ washer and dryer are stacked and bolted together and it’s in a thin space where my pantry is. I absolutely hate that this is connected to the internet as I value my privacy and feel like I am being monitored in my own home. Could I just unplug the internet on laundry day and there no data showing I used it. I unplugged the internet tonight and as I am doing laundry the little internet signal is not lit up like it is everytime I do laundry. Does this mean there is no data transmitting when I am doing laundry? I’m just tired of this constant intrusive invasion into my home and private life. Thank you

I disabled the wifi on my new Samsung RF32CG5100SR refrigerator. Once you know where to look it is quite easy. The wifi antenna or transmitter is in the left door, oddly. You have to unscrew the plastic cover over the top hinges of the doors to expose the wiring (unplug the fridge first!!). Then look for the large wire connector with the wire harness going down into the corner of the door. The connector in my case was covered in a watertight sheath, but you just pinch the sides and pull it apart. Wifi is dead, all other parts of the fridge are functioning.

I just purchased an OmniBreeze tower fan from Costco and it’s Wi-Fi enabled. Do you know if there’s a way to disable the Wi-Fi on this thing?

      Hi Janet,

There should be instructions to do this in the owner’s manual. If not, then I would return it. Should be easy to disable if it’s possible.

Hi Jeromy, we just purchased a LG smart fridge/ freezer. Has a WIFI button on the inside which can be switched off after pressing it for 3 seconds. After this I looked on my phone and it didn’t show up. It showed up initially just like any other wireless network. Does this mean that it is disabled, or do I need to unplug the wifi plug at the circuit board? Thank you.
